Our grandmother, Carmella, taught us that food is about more than just what’s on the plate; it’s about how it makes people feel. She lived in the apartment above our family’s restaurant in Dobbs Ferry, NY, and spent her life feeding others with strength, love, and fierce passion.

Carmella’s, an Italian Bistro, is a continuation of that legacy. Every dish we serve is inspired by her. It’s the smells from her kitchen, the sounds from her table, and the joy she found in feeding people well.

We love connecting directly with our guests, so all reservations at Carmella’s + VIA are made by phone or in person during our open hours. Because we don’t have voicemail, you’ll need to reach one of our team members to book your table.

"I would just like to say- I am never disappointed here. I'm a huge Italian connoisseur which also means I'm hard to please, this is the only restaurant in the valley where the food has satisfied the basil shaped hole in my heart. The waiters are super professional and personable. I'm not the most comfortable with people in general however I feel a certain spark of hospitality from this restaurant. I love that there are actual candles on the table, I really feel as though l'm pulling out all the stops for a date- without having to pull out said stops which is wonderful. The bathroom is always clean and smell free which is super important for me if I need to regroup socially. Everyone I've taken here has always been impressed and felt welcomed. I am willing to bet if I were to dine at Gordon Ramsay's restaurant I would NOT be as impressed and certainly not as welcomed as I am at Carmella's. This restaurant will permanently have a space in my memory when I'm old."
